Meet the Blogger
HI, I'M TIFFANY!
Hi, I’m Tiffany… unapologetically obsessed with books. This blog is my personal reading journal where I track the books I read, the ones I buy (maybe too often), and everything in between. Think of it as a bookish diary. If you love stories, shelves full of TBRs, and honest thoughts on all things bookish, you’re in the right place. Let’s be book friends!

Everless by Sara Holland // Book Review

Synopsis:
In the kingdom of Sempera, time is currency—extracted from blood, bound to iron, and consumed to add time to one’s own lifespan. The rich aristocracy, like the Gerlings, tax the poor to the hilt, extending their own lives by centuries.

No one resents the Gerlings more than Jules Ember. A decade ago, she and her father were servants at Everless, the Gerlings’ palatial estate, until a fateful accident forced them to flee in the dead of night. When Jules discovers that her father is dying, she knows that she must return to Everless to earn more time for him before she loses him forever.

But going back to Everless brings more danger—and temptation—than Jules could have ever imagined. Soon she’s caught in a tangle of violent secrets and finds her heart torn between two people she thought she’d never see again. Her decisions have the power to change her fate—and the fate of time itself.

I went into this book thinking that I was really going to love it. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who has felt this way about this story. I loved the idea of that time is currency and it's extracted from blood. It's just that the actual plot fell flat.

I had a hard time staying interested in this story. It was boring throughout most of the book. I think up until the last like four chapters. There wasn't a lot of build up. There was hardly any character development, everyone seemed one dimensional. I had to connection to this book!

I am going to give it two stars because the last few chapters did pick up and I started to feel something for this story.

I'm not going to go on more because I hate writing negative reviews >.<
