I was so scared to pick up this book because of all the hype. I didn’t even know if I would like it because the synopsis had the word “fanfiction” in it and I am not a big fan of that.

Oh boy.

This book totally lived up to the hype, plus more. It was a quick and easy read. It didn’t take long for me to be invested in this book.

Eliza And Her Monsters follows a girl named Eliza, obviously. Eliza likes to be anonymous. In school and online. She writes an online comic called Monstrous Sea, and the awesome thing is that nobody but her family knows she’s the one writing it!

Her reclusive life begins to change when she meets Wallace. The most famous fanfiction writer of Monstrous Sea. They begin to bond over the comic and she refuses to tell him that she’s LadyConstellation.

Everything in Eliza’s life seems to get brighter when she’s around Wallace. She wants to expand herself. She wants to leave her house for once.

That is, until her secret identity is exposed. That turns her life upside down.

I absolutely loved this book. There wasn’t a thing that I disliked about it. I loved all the pictures throughout the book and bits of the Monstrous Sea story. This book was beyond creative. I’d actually really love to read a real comic of Monstrous Sea!
